Different Kinds of Donations

Option #1:  Financial

Donate now to St. Vincent de Paul Middletown

Your donation will go into the fund that buys food for the soup kitchen and food pantry, makes a loan for a security deposit for a family in need of housing, buys a bus pass for someone to get to a doctor’s appointment, or rents a truck to move donated furniture into an apartment for a formerly homeless individual.  Click the Green Button at the top of the page to donate now.

Make a Memorial Gift in honor of a loved one or a Gift to Commemorate a Special Occasion.

What a great way to honor a loved one and his or her family!  Rather than buy flowers, make a memorial contribution in their name which will benefit the underprivileged in our community.  Or make a contribution to commemorate a special occasion – Mother’s Day, an Anniversary, whatever occasion has meaning to you.  In addition to a receipt for you, we will send the family notice of your memorial or special occasion contribution in their name.  Click the Green button on the top of this page, and look for the Memorial and Special Occasion Donation section.

Leave a gift for St. Vincent de Paul Middletown in your will.

If you haven’t already done so, consider leaving a portion of your estate to St. Vincent de Paul Middletown as a bequest.  The impact of your generous gift will feed hungry families, house the homeless, and provide a myriad of services which will better the lives of others for years to come.  What an awesome legacy!  Discuss this with your financial planner or attorney.  If you need any assistance or further information about our 501 (c)3 non-profit agency, feel free to email Peter Keast at Peter@SVDMiddletown.org.

Different Kinds of Donations

Option #2:  In-Kind (food and other necessities)

Furniture / Toys / Used Clothing / Mattresses

We don’t have the facility or storage resources for these items.  Please consider donating them to Goodwill in Middletown or Re-Store in Cromwell.

Leftovers and Prepared Foods? Yes!

The Good Samaritan Act prevents people from being afraid to donate prepared foods.  If you have a large amount of leftovers, please bring them to the Soup Kitchen from 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday through Saturday.  We’ll see to it that your generosity isn’t wasted!  We also take fresh vegetables, meats and seasonings!

If your food is bagged, canned, bottled, jarred or boxed, crated or shrink wrapped, it is needed at the Amazing Grace Food Pantry.

The food pantry, located at 16 Stack Street in Middletown, accept donations on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  Also Saturdays from 9:00 AM ’till Noon.

These types of personal care and hygiene products are needed year round.  The homeless population has come to rely on us to help them manage their dignity while they work on finding a place to live that they can call home.  Donations are accepted through the Soup Kitchen Monday through Saturday, from 8:30 AM till 1:30 PM.  Please give us a call before coming if you need help unloading… we’ll give you a hand!  860-344-0097, X-18.
